Trust...it is all but one word that throws many a relation together and one too many apart. To me it is an abstract feeling of togetherness and bonding with the person without knowing what holds you together. Right from the days we entered into this world we learned to trust without knowing what it is really about. We trusted mom would give us the food we needed with the whimper of a cry we let out at all times of day. We trusted she knew that we needed to be well cuddled when we grew restless at night not able to sleep. We trusted that she would let us stay back at home from school when we faked a headache and we trusted she knew that we wanted her to stay up all night with us as we prepared for our exams. As we grew older that trust was shared with our friends who we knew would wait and walk with us to college. Trusted that they wanted to have coffee breaks the same time we did. Trusted they would help us during examination preps and writing times :). Trusted they would not hide anything from us. Treated us as one of their kind.
Knowing what it takes to trust a person and it being an abstract feeling,it is like a thin thread which needs to be handled gently or else torn forever. Little actions..little gestures..little deeds count a lot and when these lose their value the very essence of the feeling is lost. Trust in a relation is the most sacred thing which needs to be guarded for a lifetime. I am a firm believer in it and though some times it keeps sliding away from my hands I know that those things (relations) which are meant to be yours... would be yours.

Good note to start with Tina!
ReplyDeleteI wonder ...Trust, when it is so well guarded, slips away from our hands, can we stoop down and pick up the same "quantity", or does it just vanish into thin air? There can be just a hundred percent, absolute trust or nothing at all.So when trust disappears, does the relationship cease? I hope not.

ReplyDeleteObviously the relationship will not come to an end....but you will not have the same bond when trust slips away from our hands....It all depends on one's understanding of the value of the relation. Am i right Tina??
